Jasmin Šahbegović

Executive Leader in Risk and Capital Strategy
for Global Financial Istitutions

About me

Executive leader with over 15 years of experience in finance and risk management at top global financial institutions, including UBS and Credit Suisse.

Over the past decade I have held top executive positions, steering capital frameworks in operational and credit risk across multiple international regulatory regimes – among them Switzerland’s FINMA, the US Federal Reserve and the UK’s PRA.

During that time I built and personally led high-performing teams, implemented more than 20 strategically important initiatives and streamlined core processes in pricing, risk control and regulatory capital. The results: infrastructure and staffing savings worth millions of Swiss francs and the release of up to 20% of capital reserves for further strategic investments amounting to billions of francs. Accustomed to fast-moving, complex environments, I regard strategic focus, stakeholder management and the capacity to perform under pressure as critical success factors.

My approach

My professional approach rests on three principles for sustainable value creation:

FINANCIAL EXPERTISE

The foundation of my work is deep knowledge of financial management and risk control gained in demanding global-bank settings. A PhD in mathematics and post-doc in econometrics equip me to navigate complex challenges with analytical precision for lasting solutions.

CREATIVITY

Throughout my finance career, I have consistently launched entrepreneurial initiatives within complex strategic and regulatory frameworks, balancing innovation and compliance. This foundation has evolved into creating tangible value through concrete business partnerships.

PRAGMATISM

I translate strategy into concrete, functional and sustainable products and services that deliver measurable value. Through strategic partnerships and empowering young teams with targeted training, I ensure every solution lasts well beyond my active involvement.

THE PATH FROM ANALYSIS TO ACTION

My career is a journey from abstract logic to concrete solutions,
applying analytical rigor to create tangible value in the real world.

LET’S INVEST TOGETHER

Success has never been about going it alone – its true impact lies in added value through meaningful partnerships

THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF SENIOR CITIZENS

Drawing on many years in fi nance and risk management, I have broadened my scope through personal investments in profi table projects with clear social impact. A key motivation is the growing challenge facing older adults. Studies show that seniors are often marginalized when it comes to innovations and products tailored to their daily needs. Limited mobility, affecting not only the elderly but also an increasing number of people with chronic illnesses, deserves special attention.

Across industries I have encountered many outstanding ideas whose market failure stemmed not from product quality but from unclear communication, underdeveloped marketing strategy and the absence of a distinctive brand identity. Market success depends as much on how a product is presented, positioned and promoted as on the product itself. Branding strategy, guided promotion and clear communication with target groups directly affect profitability and long-term sustainability.
